The facelifted 996's look great and can be found for good prices. A 996 turbo would be an amazing car, and Ill admit that I'd take one over a 997 carrera S.

I concur

The headlights on the facelifted version are a huge improvement, and often overlooked by most people. Very good car.

Does this one come with the engine problems package?

996 turbos are the best.

Funny you mention that.. 996 turbos were actually more reliable than the standard carrera engine wise.

They fight it out with AMG's, M's, and Jaguar R's from that era in my head,

Interesting. Did not know that. Only read a bit about 996s, and while I love the body (why do Porsche people hate on it?), they seemed to be from a dark age of Porsche history. So yeah, I'm unfunny and uninformed. :(~

I've always wanted one, so I'm with you on this one.

Haha, I'll have to use that line when describing more troubled engines (N54).
I think it's the headlights, before the facelift they had a ugly Amber part on them (looked like the first gen boxter) so many didn't like them. Fine with me, they can be had for under $20k! (Non turbo of course)

Certainly, and they are still great buys. The 996 turbo is definitely good enough to still be competitive against modern performance cars.
